An inmate named Shah Nazmul Hossain (33) died in Lalmonirhat Jail. On Tuesday (August 8) afternoon, he suddenly fell ill in the jail and died on the way to the district headquarters hospital. Shah is the son of deceased Soleman Gani of Bezgram area of Hatibandha upazila Tongbhanga union of Nazmul district. He is the general secretary of that Union Jubo League.
According to prison sources, Shah Nazmul Hossain was imprisoned in Lalmonirhat District Jail. A week ago he was castigated in a case of (NGO) Asha’s loan scheme. He was worried about not being able to repay the loan. He suddenly fell ill in the jail around 3 pm on Tuesday. Later he was quickly taken to prison hospital. Later, he was taken to the district headquarter hospital and the doctor on duty declared him dead after examination.
General Secretary of Hatibandha Upazila Jubo League Shahinur Islam Shahin said that he was in jail in a case of an NGO. It is not known why he died.
Lalmonirhat Jail Superintendent Muhammad Omar Farooq confirmed the truth of the incident and said that he suddenly fell ill in the afternoon and died of heart attack while undergoing treatment. After the legal process, the body will be handed over to the relatives.
