​The Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association (BSJA) has officially announced the commencement of the Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football Tournament 2026. The tournament, a highly anticipated annual event for the country’s media professionals, is scheduled to begin on May 3, 2026, at the BFF Artificial Turf.
​The announcement was made during a press conference where organizers detailed the structure and participants of this year’s edition. Sponsored by Square Toiletries Limited under their brand ‘Kool,’ the tournament continues its tradition of fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among journalists.
​Tournament Format & Schedule
​This year’s competition features 32 media houses divided into eight groups. The tournament will follow a knockout format after the initial group stages:
- ​Start Date: May 3, 2026
- ​Grand Final: May 7, 2026
- ​Venue: BFF Artificial Turf, Dhaka
- ​Structure: Group stage winners will advance to the Quarter-finals, followed by the Semi-finals and the Final.

​A total of 32 prominent media organizations are competing this year, including:
- ​Television: BTV, Boishakhi TV, Independent TV, Maasranga TV, Deepto TV, RTV, Banglavision, ATN News, ATN Bangla, Channel i, SA TV, Ekhon TV, Channel 24, NTV, News24, and T-Sports.
- ​Print & Online: Jago News, Dhaka Post, Dainik Jugantor, Kaler Kantho, The Daily Star, Dainik Bangla, Dainik Kalbela, Bangladesh Pratidin, Dainik Samakal, Bangla News 24, Dainik Manab Zamin, Dainik Inqilab, Dhaka Tribune, Dainik Nayadiganta, Star News, Crickfrenzy, and The Observer.

​In the press release, the BSJA expressed pride in organizing the event despite the professional busy schedules of its members. The Tournament Committee, led by Convener Raihan Al Mughni and Member Secretary Md. Yasin Hasan Rakhi, confirmed that all preparations, including the official draw, grouping, and jersey unveiling, have been completed.
​The BSJA remains the sole professional organization for sports journalists in Bangladesh, and this tournament stands as their flagship annual sporting event.
