Joypurhat in Bismillah Hotel owner fined Tk 20,000 for violating hygiene rules

Md. Milan Raihan, Joypurhat Correspondent: Today’s 06 November 25th The mobile court has fined Tk 20,000 to Bismillah Hotel-1 for not following hygiene rules, preparing food in unhygienic conditions and storing stale food.

The operation was conducted at 10.30 am on Thursday (November 6) under the leadership of Upazila Executive Officer and Executive Magistrate Shamima Akhter Jahan. At that time, Kalai Upazila Health Complex Sanitary Inspector Shahidul Islam and police members were present.

According to the mobile court sources, the hotel’s food storage area was found to be in an unhygienic condition due to dirty fans, meat and batter spices being kept together in the refrigerator and storing stale food. A fine of Tk 20,000 was imposed for this crime under Section 43 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009. The UNO also ordered him to completely clean the hotel within the next 15 days. Other food establishments have also been warned.

Upazila Executive Officer Shamima Akhter Jahan said in this regard,
“Food is directly related to human health. Any irregularities related to food products related to human health will not be tolerated. Necessary action will be taken if hygiene rules are not followed anywhere.”
