An extended meeting was held with the slogan “Change for peace, National Party for change”. On Saturday (October 4) at 10 am at the party’s district office, the district president, freedom fighter Ed. Anwar Hossain Anu, was in the chair, and the chief guest was Professor Mohsinul Islam Babul, presidium member of the central committee of JPA. The main speaker was the organizing secretary of the central committee Ed. M.A. Jalil. Former district president and central committee member Md. Bazlur Rahman, district senior vice-president A. Jalil Gazi, vice-president Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Anwar Hossain Talukder, AKM Belayet Hossain, joint general secretary Syed Abu Shahid, Kamrul Islam Dulal, organizing secretary Manjurul Islam Manju, office secretary Md. Yunus Hawlader, district volunteer party president Kabir Hossain Akon, general secretary Riazul Islam Riaz, youth solidarity president Ashrafur Rahman Shakil and district upazila and union committee leaders were present as special guests.
The chief guest said in his speech that the country and the nation are going through a transitional period. This nation has been beaten repeatedly. The Awami fascist government had taken the country to the brink of destruction. The current Yunus government has failed to run the country. Mob terrorism is going on in the country. An anti-independence party is dreaming of coming to power again. But the rule of the Jatiya Party was a golden era. Ershad introduced Islamic culture in this country. He declared Friday as a weekly holiday. He declared Islam as the state religion. He formed new districts and district councils, upazila councils. He expressed hope that the Jatiya Party would come to power in the coming days as well. He called on the party leaders and workers to work unitedly. He also said that it was informed in the meeting that they would soon announce their candidacies in all national seats.
The meeting declared the abolition of all upazila and municipal council committees under the district. It was decided to form a conference implementation committee within 7 working days. It was decided to form a conference implementation committee similar to the district committee while keeping the district committee active. After the conference implementation committee receives the approval of the central committee, the district committee will also be declared abolished.
