IU Bangabandhu Parishad holds discussion meeting on Mrittunjoyee Mujib

A discussion meeting titled ā€˜Mrittunjoyee Mujibā€™ was held at Islamic University in Kushtia on Sunday marking the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Mourning Day.IU Bangabandhu Parishad arranged the discussion programme at Bir Shreshtha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium of the University around 11:00 am.

Mahbubul Alam Hanif, member of parliament and Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Awami League MP attended the programme as a chief guest while IU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr. ShaikhĀ Abdus Salam attended as the chief discussant with Professor Dr M Jahangir Hossen, acting president of IU Bangabandhu Parishad in the chair.

Abdul Hyee, Member of Parliament Jhenaidah-1 andĀ AKM Sarwar Jahan Badsha, Member of Parliament Kushtia-1,Ā attended the event as special guests while Pro-vice chancellor Prof Dr. M Mahbubur Rahman and Treasurer Prof Dr. Alamgir Hossain Bhuiya were the honorable guests.

Bangabandhu Parishad secretary Professor Dr Mahbubul Arfin conducted the programme while Professor Dr Mizanur Rahman, convener of Bangabandhu Parishad national mourning day celebration committee, delivered the welcome speech. Teachers, students from different departments and more than one thousand BCL leaders and activists took part here.

Speaking as a chief guest, MP Hanif said, ā€œIt is unbelievable and no one can imagine that Bangabandhu would be killed in an independent country. It is needed to establish a swift investigation commission for the assassination of Bangabandhu. The nation is eager to know the culprits behind this tragic incident.ā€™ā€™

ā€œWe must not let the blood shed for our independence go in vain or fall into the hands of any conspirators. The people are the guardians of the nation’s sovereignty. The people of the country are with Sheikh Hasina and no one evil force can remove her position. We do not want Bangladesh to be a militant state. We will take the country forward under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina,ā€ he added.
