The general MARTs students and DMF doctors of Joypurhat district held an indefinite intern strike and student strike of MATs students with four-point demands including cancellation of the decision to form the board in the name of inconsistency, immediate formation of the medical education board. On Wednesday (August 30) at 11:30 a.m., they observed a work stoppage and strike at the premises of the Jaipurhat District Modern Hospital.
They said, creation of employment and quick recruitment, cancellation of allied board and formation of independent board, revision of inconsistent course curriculum including internship and provision of higher education opportunities.
He also said that they have been demanding from the government for a long time but their demands have not been met. Forced, they started the movement. They also said that memorandums will be issued to hospital superintendents, civil surgeons and district administrators.
District DMF doctors Newaz Morshed, Tauhid, Russell Mahmud, Dipankar Saha, intern doctors Sumi Akhter, Sagar Islam, students Jannatul Kanun Mimi and Shamim Hossain etc. spoke on the occasion.
