Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma pays courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman

Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Pranay Verma paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman this morning (Monday). The meeting was held at the Cabinet Meeting Room of the Prime Minister’s Office in the Bangladesh Secretariat.

According to the Prime Minister’s Press Wing, during the meeting, the Indian High Commissioner congratulated and wished the newly appointed Prime Minister. As part of the courtesy call, Pranay Verma gifted the Prime Minister a special book written by world poet Rabindranath Tagore and a showpiece. The Prime Minister also expressed gratitude for the High Commissioner’s courtesy.

However, the Press Wing did not provide any details about whether any specific issues of bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed in the meeting. It is believed that this was basically a formal courtesy call.

After the meeting, the Prime Minister’s Press Wing released pictures and information of the meeting to the media.
