Indian High Commission hosts two-day music event ‘Bandhan Ache Prane Prane’

Rajib Dey special correspondent: Today’s 23 April 2026 on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh and Bangla New Year 1433, the Indian High Commission organized a special two-day music evening titled “Bandhan Ache Prane Prane: Of Harmony Within” at the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) in Dhaka. The event celebrated the common heritage of music, festivals and culture of the two countries with great dignity.

This special event was completed through a successful public-private partnership between the Indian High Commission and HSBC Bangladesh to uphold tradition and creativity.

Two very popular and renowned artists from both Bengals performed at the event—Aditi Mohsin, a prominent Rabindra Sangeet artist from Bangladesh, and Srikant Acharya, a renowned artist from India. Their melodious melodies and singing created a wonderful blend of the common cultural traditions of the two countries, which captivated the audience present.

Indian High Commissioner Prannoy Verma, who was present at the event, said in his speech, “The cultural bond between India and Bangladesh is older and deeper than our national borders. The presence of renowned artists from both countries on the same stage proves how strong our culture is. It is a strong symbol of cultural integration, mutual trust, respect and understanding between the people of the two countries.”

High-ranking officials of the Bangladesh government, as well as prominent representatives from the business, media, education and cultural worlds were present at this colorful event. It was hoped that the event would take the cultural diplomacy of the two friendly countries a step further.
