Kurigram Correspondent : The local internal Aman paddy and rice procurement campaign for 2025-26 has been inaugurated in Kurigram Sadar Upazila.
On Wednesday (November 26) afternoon, Upazila Executive Officer UNO Ismail Hossain inaugurated the paddy and rice collection drive at the government upazila food warehouse organized by the Upazila Food Division, Kurigram Sadar.
Present at the inaugural ceremony of the paddy rice collection drive were Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Nahida Parvin, Upazila Food Controller Halimur Rahman Palash, Officer-in-Charge Sadar LSD Sharif Ahmed, Miller- Shahiruzzaman Saju, Maidul Islam Mukul, Shahidul Islam, Ahmed Ali, Mahmudunnabi Munna, A.S. Karim and others.
According to relevant sources, during the current Aman season, 119 metric tons of paddy and 1,688 metric tons of rice will be purchased directly from farmers in Sadar Upazila to government warehouses and through mill owners at government-determined prices as per the policy.
This season, the price of paddy per kilogram has been set at Tk 34 and the price of rice per kilogram has been set at Tk 50.
