Commerce Minister Virmuktijoddha Tipu Munshi, MP said that the suffering of low-income people of the country will be eased under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the current government is working sincerely. Oil, pulses, sugar are being sold at subsidized prices to one crore families of the country every month. Dates are also being sold in Sola and Dhaka City on the occasion of Holy Ramadan. On the occasion of Holy Ramadan, TCB has started selling these products in two installments among one crore cardholder families. The Commerce Minister said that the Ministry of Commerce is selling all these products at subsidized prices through the Bangladesh Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) to provide assistance to low-income people in the current global situation. Niyo dealers across the country are selling these products to cardholders. City corporation, district and upazila administrations are fully cooperating in this work. The card holder consumer will purchase these products from the designated dealers as normal personal convenience.
The Minister of Commerce said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the inauguration of the first installment of five products of TCB at a subsidized price among one crore card-holding low-income families in Dhaka today (March 09) on the occasion of Holy Ramadan in Dhaka North City Corporation’s Ward No. 25, Tejgaon.
It may be noted that the first installment sale of five products of TCB at a subsidized price among one crore card-holding low-income families across the country in two installments on the occasion of Holy Ramzan has started today. The five products are sugar at the rate of Tk 60 per kg, lentil at the rate of Tk 70 per kg, two kg, soybean oil at the rate of Tk 110 per liter, two liters at the rate of Tk 50 per kg, chickpea at the rate of Tk 50 per kg and only in Dhaka City dates are being sold at Tk 100 per kg. The second installment of the product will go on sale early next month.
