Keeping this theme in mind, the final game and award distribution ceremony of ‘Natun Kuri Sports-2026’ was held in Munshiganj in a festive atmosphere.

Gazaria Upazila of Munshiganj won 1 champion and 2 runners-up in the Natun Kuri Sports and received a total of 53 awards.

Today, Sunday (May 10) afternoon, the closing and award distribution ceremony of Natun Kuri Sports-2026 was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner and learned District Magistrate Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi at the Shaheed Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

The Honorable Member of Parliament of Munshiganj-3 constituency, Mr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Deputy Director, Local Government Mr. Moushumi Mahbub, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mr. Muhammad Mushabberul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Mohammad Billal Hossain, PPM, Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Md. Kamran Hossain, Upazila Executive Officer, Munshiganj Sadar Mr. Md. Masudur Rahman, District Sports Officer Mr. Khadija Parveen, officials of various government departments of the district, sports organizers, guardians and a large number of spectators. Later, local MP Md. Kamruzzaman distributed prizes among the winners.

In the final of the “Natun Kuri Sports 2026” girls’ team kabaddi competition held in Munshiganj on May 5, the Gazaria Upazila Girls’ Kabaddi team emerged as the champions amidst extreme excitement. The Sirajdikhan Girls’ Kabaddi team emerged as the runners-up. The final match was very competitive. The Gazaria team defeated the Sirajdikhan Upazila team by 50-31 points in the stipulated time and the Gazaria Upazila Girls’ Kabaddi team achieved the glory of becoming the champions.


A total of eight types of events (football, cricket, kabaddi, Chess, Athletics, Swimming, Badminton and Martial Arts) participated by teenagers aged 12 to 14 from various upazilas and municipalities of the district. Teenagers of Gazaria Upazila participated with pride in all the events and won a total of 53 awards.
Aditya Sarkar of Gazaria Upazila was awarded the title of undefeated district champion in chess.


Apart from this, other notable achievements are-
Gazaria Upazila Football (Boys’ Team) Runners Up, Gazaria Upazila Boys’ Cricket Team Runners Up, Gazaria Upazila Badminton Boys Runners Up, 50 Meter Freestyle Swimming (Boys) – Champion – Hamim, 50 Meter Breaststroke Swimming (Boys) – Champion – Md. Abu Bakkar, 50 Meter Freestyle Swimming (Girls) – Third – Shahria Sultana Maria,
100 Meter Run (Girls) – Champion – Riyamani,
100 Meter Run (Boys) – Second – Russell Rana,
200 Meter Running (Boys) – Third – Russell Rana.
It was hoped that this event, which is vibrant with the enthusiasm, discipline and sportsmanship of youth, will add new inspiration to the sports arena of Munshiganj district.
The current government has taken this commendable initiative to enrich the sports arena of the country and find talented players from the grassroots level. The winners of the district level will participate in the divisional level competition. Upazila Executive Officer Mahmudul Hasan congratulated the champion team and said, ‘Our team will try its best to become the champion at the divisional level. The expectation of the people of Gazaria, including me, is that the girls’ kabaddi team will achieve the glory of becoming the champion with their sportsmanship in the divisional level game.’
