Human chain formed by local residents, including students, demanding repair and reconstruction of road in Lalanagar Union, Rangunia

Rangunia Correspondent: A human chain was held demanding the renovation and reconstruction of Bandaraja Road, which connects Hosnabad Lalanagar High School, Lalanagar Government Primary School and Abu Bakkar Siddique (RA) Sunni Madrasa in Ward No. 5 of Lalanagar Union in Rangunia Upazila of Chittagong.

Locals, including teachers and students of primary and high schools and madrasas, formed a human chain on Monday (July 28) morning. Lalanagar Union Jubo Dal Vice President Mohammad Alamgir, Member Sekandar, Sechchhasebak Dal Joint Convener Mohammad Siraj, Union Chhatra Dal Senior Vice President Saiful Haque, teachers, students and local people were present and spoke at the human chain.

The speakers at the human chain said that the condition of the road has deteriorated about half a kilometer above the Bandaraja road in Ward No. 5 of Lalanagar Union. About 10,000 people, including students, travel on this road every day. It has become difficult to walk on foot, let alone drive on the road. Due to the lack of road repairs, the general public, including teachers and students of schools and madrasas, patients, farmers and working people are suffering.

Especially during the current monsoon season, movement becomes extremely difficult. This time, the victims, including the locals, demanded that the road be repaired and rebuilt.

Alleging that the road has not been renovated, Rangunia Upazila Sechchhasebak Dal joint convener Rabiul Hasan said, “Even though the previous government talked about development, there was no development on this road.” Former Union BNP

He claimed that the roads in the area of the president of the party have not been renovated. Currently, it is difficult to walk even in a car. Rickshaw riders are getting sick due to the shaking.

Local resident Rabiul Hasan also said that despite several requests to UP members to repair the road, no effective action has been taken yet. Therefore, the locals demanded that the administration, including the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, repair the road.
