Rajiv Dey: The ‘Reliance Forum’ panel led by Mohammad Hanif has won landslide victory in the board of directors elections of the country’s leading and largest tourism industry organization, Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB). Hanif’s panel has won 14 out of the total 16 posts in the executive committee. On the other hand, 1 person from the ‘TOAB Agragami Oikya Jote’ led by Md. Taslim Amin Shovon and 1 as an independent candidate have won.
The election was held in a festive atmosphere at the auditorium of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation in Agargaon, Agargaon, on Tuesday (June 16), 2026. Voting began at 10:30 am and continued uninterruptedly until 4:30 pm. Out of the organization’s total 423 voters, 365 voters exercised their franchise. The general voters elected 16 directors by voting and later the president was elected by the associate voters.

A three-member election commission was responsible for conducting the election in a fair and impartial manner. In addition, a three-member appeal commission was active to resolve any complaints.
In this very important election for the tourism sector, top leaders of various tourism-related organizations of the country including the Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB), Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAB), TDAB, BD Inbound, TRIAB were present as observers. The newly elected committee has expressed its determination to work unitedly for the development of the country’s tourism industry and to protect the interests of TOAB members.
