Islami University Grenade Attack Day was celebrated. On Monday (August 21) morning, a protest rally started from the administration building square and circled the various roads of the campus and ended at the Mrityunjai Mujib mural. At the end of the rally, tributes were paid by the university to the victims of the 21st August grenade attack at the Mritunjai Mujib Mural.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Sheikh Abdus Salam, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Mahbubur Rahman, Treasurer Professor Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan.

After the tributes of the Vice-Chancellor, tributes were paid by the Islamic University Teachers Association, Bangabandhu Parishad, Bangabandhu Parishad Teachers Unit, Shapla Forum, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Saddam Hussain Hall and Bangladesh Chhatra League EB Branch at Mrutunjai Mujib Mural. After paying tributes, 1 minute silence was observed for all those killed in the grenade attack on August 21, including Ivy Rahman, and prayers and prayers were offered for the peace of their souls.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Sheikh Abdus Salam said, on August 21, 2004, the peace rally of Bangladesh Awami League was attacked with the direct support of the then heads of state. A plan was made to kill Awami League leaders including Sheikh Hasina on that day so that the ideals of Bangabandhu could not be implemented in this country.
The Vice-Chancellor said, “I saw the horrific grenade attack that day with my own eyes.” Which still makes me shudder when I think about it. He said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu sowed the seeds of all the development of this country. People’s leader Sheikh Hasina continues to implement that development. To continue this trend of development, all the soldiers of Mujib ideology must work as one and united.
