Goalanda Police and Journalists Friendly Football Match Held to Build a Drug-Free Society

A friendly football match was held in Goalanda, Rajbari with the participation of police and journalists under the theme “Say no to drugs, build a healthy society.”

The game was organized by Goalanda Ghat Police Station at Goalanda Nazir Uddin Pilot Government High School ground at 5 pm on Saturday (June 21).

Goalanda Ghat Police Station Best XI competed in the game against Goalanda Ghat Police Station Best XI of Journalists. The Police Station XI won by a margin of 4-2 goals. The winning team’s striker and Rajbari Assistant Police Superintendent Md. Mizanur Rahman and Journalists XI’s Zakir Hossain were jointly selected as the Man of the Match in the game.

Rajbari Additional Police Superintendent (Crime and Ops) Md. Sharif Al Rajib inaugurated the game and distributed prizes as the chief guest.

He said, “Both police and journalists work for the welfare of the country. The cordial relationship between them is positive for the society. This arrangement to create awareness against drugs is undoubtedly commendable.”

After the game, trophies were handed over to the players of both teams. People from different classes and professions were present on the field to enjoy the game.
