The first meeting of the newly formed executive committee of the traditional journalist organization ‘Kalihati Reporters Unity’ was held with great enthusiasm.
The meeting was organized at the temporary office of the organization on Saturday (June 20) at 11 am.
All the officers and executive members of the committee were present at the meeting, chaired by the newly elected president of Kalihati Reporters Unity, Anisur Rahman Shelly, and moderated by General Secretary Monir Hossain.
Several important decisions and plans were taken in the meeting to increase the dynamism of the organization and maintain an objective journalism environment.
Improving the quality of journalism: The commitment was expressed to objectively present the overall development, public suffering and prospects of Kalihati Upazila in the media.
The organization’s internal discipline and mutual cooperation were emphasized.
The initial decision was made to organize workshops for professional development and to form a welfare fund for the welfare of the Reporters’ Unity.
In his closing speech, the president said that journalists are the mirror of society. Kalihati Reporters’ Unity will always play a leading role in achieving the rights of the common people and in the development of the upazila. With the help of the new committee, this organization will go much further.
Kalihati Reporters’ Unity Advisor and Daily Next News Editor and Publisher Principal Tofazzal Hossain Tuhin were present as guests in the meeting. Prominent businessman SM Mamun Or Rashid was present as invited guests.
Among others, Vice President Shariful Islam Mahfuz, Joint General Secretary Nihal Khan, Organizing Secretary Selim Reza Swadhin, Finance Secretary Nahid Khan, Office Secretary Debashish Karmakar, Executive Members Rashid Ahmed Abbasi, Das Pabitra, Mizanur Rahman Shamim, Suman Mia, etc. also spoke at the meeting.
