BCS general education cadre officers are on strike demanding to solve various problems including cadre discrimination in Jhalkathi. Monday (October 2) Jhalkathi Government College observed this strike on the call of BCS General Education Association. Later a discussion meeting was held in the college auditorium.
President of the college unit, Principal Professor Md. Yunus Ali Siddiqui spoke in the chair, Vice-Principal Professor Shukdev Barai, President of Jhalkathi District Unit Professor Md. Ilyas Bepari, Assistant Professors Mahamud Morshed, Shyamal Chandra Majhi, Lecturer Md. Zahidul Islam. The meeting was conducted by Assistant Professor Md. Bazlur Rashid.
During the strike, the leaders said that they have been requesting the appropriate authorities of the government for a long time to solve the existing problems of the education cadre. But the problem is not being solved. Called the authorities to come forward to meet their just demands.
