Due to the upcoming national elections, it has been informed that extra precautions will be taken in Brahmanbaria during this autumn Durgo festival. These words were informed in the Durga Puja preparatory meeting organized by the district administration on Tuesday. It was informed in the meeting that Durga Puja will be held in 602 mandapas in nine upazilas including the district headquarters.

District Commissioner presided over the meeting held in the conference room. Shahgir Alam. Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Helena Parivan addressed the BGB-25 battalion captain Lt. Colonel Arman Arif, Acting Captain of 60 Battalion, Major Jobair Bin Jaber, Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Ekram Ullah, Ex-Principal Bibhutibhushan Debnath, Ex-Principal Amrit Lal Saha, Somesh Ranjan Roy, Sanjib Saha Bappi, Nitish Ranjan Roy, Bishjit Pal Babu, Sadhan Chandra Chowdhury, Kartik Chowdhury etc. According to the information received from the meeting, the highest number of 148 pujas in the district will be held in Nasirnagar. Apart from this, 133 mandapas will be held in Nabinagar, 79 in Sadar, 57 in Vijaynagar, 52 in Kasba, 48 in Sarail, 46 in Bancharampur, 23 in Akhaura and 16 in Ashuganj. Compared to last year, there will be 11 more mandapa pujas this year.

In the preparatory meeting, the speakers brought up various bitter experiences during the puja. In particular, there is a wide discussion on the issue that electricity supply should remain normal. All kind of cooperation is assured from the administration to celebrate the Puja beautifully.
