To prevent dengue and keep the environment of the city clean, the district administration and the municipal administration have jointly initiated a cleanliness drive, conducted a mobile court and distributed awareness leaflets in Jhalokati.
The program was inaugurated on Saturday (June 20) at 11 am from in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Later, the drive was conducted in seven areas of the city’s dengue origin identified by the Health Department, including Station Road, Kalabagan, Katpatti, Steamerghat.
During the drive, in addition to conducting cleanliness activities at various places, the general public was made aware of what to do to prevent dengue and awareness leaflets were distributed.
At that time, the mobile court was run under the leadership of Executive Magistrate (NDC), Assistant Commissioner (Education) and Executive Magistrate (Nazarat and Treasury Branch) Md. Fazle Rabbi Asif. During the drive, legal action was taken against several institutions, including Kamala Pharmacy on Station Road, for maintaining an unsanitary environment and fines were collected.
Representatives of the relevant departments, including municipal officials and employees, participated in the drive.
The district administration has informed that the activities of increasing public awareness, cleanliness drives and operating mobile courts to control dengue will continue in the future.
