It is known that workers and employees of Joypurhat Sugar Mill get the opportunity to buy sugar through ration every month. Due to various reasons including financial crisis, many people cannot take that opportunity, despite this, they get sugar from the ration account every month. As a result, 2 tons of sugar was extracted on April 4. However, the workers did not get anything. They complain that their ration sugar is being sold at exorbitant prices to local traders. Sugar mill worker Ajmal Hossain Tuku said that sugar is being sold in the name of regular and seasonal workers, but that sugar is going to the trader’s godown. When the price of sugar was low, sugar was forced to be taken in lieu of wages. And now with the sugar mills becoming wise, manipulation has started with the allotted sugar in the name of their ration. However, sugar is being given according to the sugar mill authority’s demand. Jayapurhat businessman Sitaram Saha said that he regularly buys sugar from the sugar mill people, but he does not know anything about whose name he is buying the allocated sugar. Ibrahim Hossain, a businessman of Rangpur Shyampur said, “We buy sugar coupons at the rate of five to seven taka per kg from the farmers of various chili mills, collect them and extract the sugar and sell it. When asked about the manipulation of the sale of sugar, Ration Department Coroner Abdur Rahman denied the irregularities and said that the sugar follows the rules. given There is no irregularity or manipulation of ration sugar.
