Clashes over land dispute in Singra, Natore, injure at least 30, including women

At least 30 people, including women, were injured in a violent clash between two parties over an old land dispute in Singra, Natore.
The clashes between Sirajul and Kalam groups took place in Paril village of Dahiya Union of the upazila from 7:30 am to noon on Friday (April 24).
According to local sources, there had been tension between the two sides over a land dispute for a long time. On the morning of the incident, an argument turned into a clash. Later, both sides attacked each other with sticks, causing extreme tension in the area.
Sirajul, Ainul Haque, Abdul Aziz, Shahidul, Asad, Rubel, Farhad, Hafiz, Shakil and Raihan, among others, from the Sirajul Group, and Hasi, Mafuzul, Murshedul, Mohsin, Islam, Rahidul, Robbel, Rabbani, Sumon, Milon and Alamin, among others, from the Kalam Group, were injured in the clash. Women are also among the injured.
The injured were rescued locally and admitted to Natore Sadar Hospital and Singra Upazila Health Complex. Some of them are said to be in critical condition.
In this regard, Singra Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said, “As soon as the news was received, the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control. The situation is currently normal. No party has filed a written complaint yet.”
Meanwhile, additional police have reportedly been deployed in the area.
