A child named Samia died after drowning in a pond in Kutubdia, Cox’s Bazar. The incident took place on Thursday (January 15) afternoon in Ali Fakir Daily Village, South Dhurung Purba. The child’s father, Enamul Haque, a fish trader from Dhurung Bazaar, said that his daughter Samia (6) is a student of South Dhurung Government Primary School. On Thursday, instead of going to school, she was playing near her house. After searching for him in various places, he was found while searching in the nearby village at 5 pm. The child was immediately taken to the hospital, where Dr. Biplob Kanti Rudra on duty declared the child dead.
