Breaking Fast, Building Hope: UMR Provides Ramadan Food Support in Bangladesh

Rajshahi, Bangladesh – Global One, an international charity based in London, partnered with United Mission for Relief & Development (UMR), a non-profit organization headquartered in the USA, to distribute food items to poor widow and orphan families in Rajshahi on the occasion of Holy Ramadan. The distribution ceremony was held on Sunday, March 19, at Kashiadanga College grounds, and was attended by several dignitaries, including Mr. Habib Rajeh, Program Manager of UMR, who was the chief guest of the occasion.The event aimed to provide aid to widows and orphans from backward communities in the region. It was funded by UMR, and each beneficiary received 20 kg of rice, 1 liter of oil, 1 kg of dates, 1 kg of sugar, 2 kg of chickpeas, 2 kg of pulses, 0.5 kg of spices, 1 kg of semai, 4 kg Chira, and 1 kg Muri.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Habib Rajeh expressed his hope to continue support for the community in the long run. “UMR is committed to working with partners to provide sustainable development solutions to communities around the world”, he said. Kashiadanga College Principal Abdul Karim Shah presided over the distribution ceremony, while Ramzan Ali, Head of Logistics and Program Implementation Officer at Global One, gave the welcome speech. Special guests included Wazed Ali Khan, Vice Chairman of Paba Upazila Parishad and General Secretary of Rajshahi District Farmers League, Rajab Ali, Panel Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation and Ward No. 1 Councillor, Mukti Judda Saghati Parishad Rajshahi District President Golam Murshed Musa, Global One Program Officer Akib Jaber, and Project Coordinator Ahsan Habib. The food distribution ceremony was a significant effort by Global One and UMR to continue their humanitarian and development activities in Bangladesh, providing aid to those in need in the country.
