Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the goal of the Mujib year will be to provide safe housing for everyone, so that every person in the country can live a better life. Nothing can be a bigger festival than giving a home to the landless and homeless people of the country. Borhanuddin Upazila Nirbahi Officer Naureen Haque held a press conference in the hall of the office on the occasion of Mujibvarsh’s house award. The press conference was held on March 20 (Monday) at noon. Upazila Executive Officer Naureen Haque said that under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali father of the nation, after gaining independence in 1971 in exchange for the blood of 3 million martyrs, the first father of the nation took the initiative to rehabilitate the country’s landless, homeless and helpless people. On February 20, 1972, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman visited Charporagachha village in the then Noakhali District (present Lakshmipur District) and ordered the rehabilitation of the landless-homeless-helpless people. AHonorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will auspiciously inaugurate the transfer of 4th phase houses along with land to the beneficiary families on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Borhanuddin Upazila Administration will be connected through video link in Upazila Parishad Auditorium. The program will start at 10:15 am after receiving the Ganabhaban.
He also said in the press conference that in the 1st phase, land and houses were provided to 28 landless and homeless families, including 14 in Chagla Mauza of Qutuba Union (adjacent to Chagla Hasnain Islamia Dakhil Madrasa) and 14 in Padmamansa Mauza of Kachia Union (adjacent to Mira Bari). In the 2nd phase, land and houses were provided to 16 landless and homeless families in Chagla Mauza of Qutuba Union (adjacent to Chagla Hasnain Islamia Dakhil Madrasa). In the 3rd phase, a total of 142 landless and homeless families including 21 houses in Padmamansa Mauza of Kachia Union, 60 houses in Chagla Mauza of Kutuba Union, 21 houses in Chargazipur Mauza of Sachara Union, 40 houses in Dalalpur Mauza of Tabgi Union have been rehabilitated with land and houses. In the 4th phase allotment of 106 houses is available. Out of which 04 houses are being constructed in Chagla Khas land of Kutuba Union, 52 houses are in Udaipur Mauza of Pakhia Union, 14 houses are in Hasannagar Mauza of Hasannagar Union (adjacent to Khas Mahal Bazar) and 36 houses are being constructed in Dalalpur Mauza of Tabgi Union. Out of this, 37 Udaipur houses in Pakchia Union, 14 houses in Hasannagar Union and 4 houses in Kutuba Union have been completed. According to the sample given by the office of the honorable Prime Minister, the acceptance document has been executed, the registration completed and the house grant certificate has been prepared. The project area has been provided with potable water and electricity connection. Through this the beneficiaries and later their heirs will get 02 (two) percent ownership of the house along with the land. Upazila Land Officer and Executive Magistrate Munni Islam attended the press conference. Upazila Awami League President and Baramanika Union Parishad Chairman Md. Jasim Uddin Haider, Upazila Parishad Chairman Abul Kalam, Vice Chairman and Upazila Awami League Organizing Secretary Alhaj Russel Ahmed Miah, Female Vice Chairman Mahfuza Yasmin, Borhanuddin Thana Officer in Charge Md. Monir Hossain Miah, Pakhiya Union Parishad Chairman. Alauddin Sardar, Tobgi Union Parishad Chairman Jasim Howladar and all the officials of the upazila, representatives of freedom fighters organizations and media workers of print, online and electronic media working in the upazila.
