The girls of Bangladesh returned home on Monday with the trophy of SAF Under-16 Women’s Championship. Surbhi Akhter Preeti, Yarjan Begum and Arpita Biswas returned to Dhaka from Kathmandu, Nepal on Monday. At Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, they were greeted with flowers by the Chairperson of Women’s Wing of BAFUF Mahfuza Akhter Kiran, General Secretary Imran Hossain Tushar and other officials. Bangladesh became the unbeaten champions after defeating India 3-2 in the tiebreaker in the final of the tournament yesterday (Sunday) in Kathmandu. Just a month ago, Bangladesh girls became joint champions with India in Under-19 SAFF in Dhaka. After the success of Sagarikas, their followers also won the South Asian title. In September 2022, Sabina-Krishna-Sanjidara returned from Nepal with the trophy of excellence in South Asia. After the seniors, this time the girls of Bangladesh are also victorious in age-based football.
