Attempt to build wall in defiance of court orders: Family suffers from insecurity

Allegations of attacking, vandalizing, occupying land owned by others and committing terrorist acts in defiance of the court’s ban on the disputed land have been raised against Md. Dudu Mia, son of the deceased Abdur Rouf, Lili Begum, wife of the deceased Abdur Rouf, and Abdul Karimgong, son of the deceased Abdul Latif, of Mohammadpur village in Nabiganj upazila. In the case described by the learned court (Case No. 409/26 (Nabi), both parties were issued a restraining order. On the instructions of the learned court, the Nabiganj police station came to the spot and issued a notice to refrain from doing all kinds of work on the Nalisha land. However, Md. Dudu Miagong continued their work by ignoring the instructions of the learned court and the police notice sent by the learned court. When asked about this, the victim Md. Jewel Mia said – Md. Dudu Miagong has been known as a “marked bad guy” in the area for a long time. There are allegations of extortion, encroachment, assault and various criminal activities against them. He also alleged that they do not even pay attention to the local elders and public representatives. When asked about this, Syed Mortuza Ali Mendi, a prominent arbitrator in the area, said – attempts have been made to resolve the dispute between the two through various village dignitaries. But, Md. Dudu Miagong It is not being resolved due to non-cooperation and lack of respect for the law. The plaintiff in the case, Md. Jewel Mia, is a simple-minded person. Although he respects the law and society, the opponent Dudu Miagongra does not care about anyone. When asked about this, the officer-in-charge of Nabiganj Police Station said, “If the instructions of the learned court are disobeyed, action will be taken according to the law.”
