The police have arrested 3 accused and 2 warrants of different terms in Laksam of Comilla.
Police arrested them from Gunti village of Laksam Municipality and Chandina Upazila of the district last Thursday night. They were sent to jail by Laksam police court on Friday.
According to police sources, as part of a special operation, last Thursday night, SI (retd) Anwar Hossain, SI (retd) HMA Latif, ASI (retd) Russell Miah Sangeet conducted a raid in the area of Laksam police station, CR No-118/19 (Laksam ) accused Md. Yusuf, son of Lal Mia, wife Afroza Begum and son Rakib Hasan of Gunti village of Laksam Municipality who were sentenced to 6 (six) months in the case were arrested.
Also from Chandina Upazila of the district SI Borhan Uddin Bhuiyan, SI Dhwaichamong Chak Nayan, SI Anwar Hossain, ASI Russell along with the joint force raided Chandina upazila of the district. In GR Case No-133/20 (Laksam) sentenced to 06 (six) months and in GR Case No-39/19 (Laksam) sentenced to 06 (six) months, a total of 5 persons including Abul Hossain, son of deceased Arab Ali of Khunta village of Laxam upazila. was arrested.
There are 9 cases against the arrested accused Md. Abul Hossain under Section-19(1) of 2014 and 9(a) under Narcotics Control Act of 1990.
Laxam Police OC Abdullah Al Mahfuz confirmed the incident and said that the arrests were made as part of a special operation. This campaign will continue.
