The annual general meeting of Cox’s Bazar Chamber of Commerce and Industries has been held. President Abu Morshed Chowdhury Khoka gave a welcome speech at the beginning of the meeting at the conference hall of a five-star hotel in the city last Sunday (March 19). We need to be more proactive about responsibility. The traders of Cox’s Bazar are suffering from various ironies because they are not in one place regarding the decision. We need to unite for the sake of all. Cox’s Bazar is 22nd out of 93 salt producing countries. Most of the salt is produced here. We have to think about how to enrich the salt industry. The chamber wants tax exemption on iodine import and incentives to promote coastal tourism. He also said that many foreign tourists come to Cox’s Bazar. The desired people to serve them have not yet developed. There should be more advance in the education of our children. Director Abid Ahsan Sagar presented the activities of the chamber through multimedia presentation in the annual general meeting. Secretary Nacher Mahmud presented the financial report of the previous financial year. Senior Vice President Sabed Ur Rahman, Vice President Director gave a speech. Abdul Khalek. The chief guest in the second session was Cox’s Bazar-3 (Sadar-Ramu-Idgaon) Member of Parliament Saimum Sarwar Kamal. He said that businessmen cannot have any political identity. The economy of the country depends on the traders. One should think about the country before everything. Cox’s Bazar needs everyone’s concerted efforts to move forward. District Commissioner Muhammad Shaheen Imran spoke as a special guest at the event. Restaurant Owners Association President Naimul Haque Chowdhury Tutul, Cox’s Bazar Press Club General Secretary Md. Mujibul Islam, District Press Club General Secretary HM Ershad and other chamber directors and members were present. At the end of the ceremony, 5 people were awarded in recognition of their success in their own business. They are, Abdul Sukkur, Md. Anwarul Islam, Nayan Selina, Manowara Parveen and Shahena Majumdar Chumki. Before this, the guests unveiled the book cover of the chamber’s publication “Sunil Saadat”.
