A two-year-old boy named Kauchar Ali drowned while visiting a relative’s house in Aditmari upazila of Lalmonirhat.
The accident took place in Kachumura area of Palashi Union of the upazila on Wednesday (September 6) morning. Shishu Kauchar Ali is the son of Mostakin Ali of Sialkhwa village of Kaliganj upazila.
The police and locals said that the child Kauchar Ali came to visit the house of his relative Mumtaz Ali of Kachumura village of Palashi union with his mother.
They were supposed to return home after noon on Wednesday. In the morning, the child Kawshar Ali was playing in the yard of the relative’s house. At this time, he fell into the river and drowned.
The people of the house realized immediately and rescued him from the drain and took him to the Aditmari Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors on duty declared Kauchar dead.
Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Haque said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving information. Further action will be taken after investigation.
