Md. Nur Islam Noyan, Dinajpur : Keeping in mind the slogan “We will get vaccinated as a team to prevent typhoid fever”, a meeting was held with journalists from all walks of life of Dinajpur on October 12 and 13 at the Shaheed Dr. Abdul Jabbar Auditorium of the 250-bed General Hospital jointly organized by the Dinajpur District Information Office and the District Civil Surgeon’s Office on October 11 and 13, keeping in mind the Typhoid Vaccination Campaign-2025.
Under the chairmanship of Dinajpur Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Asif Ferdous, the 250-bed General Hospital Dinajpur’s Acting Superintendent Dr. Md. Sirajpur Islam, District Information Officer Sadia Afreen Shefa, Deputy Director of the Department of Mass Communication of the Ministry of Information and Extension, Dhaka, Faima Jahan, and District Primary Education Officer A. M. Shahjahan spoke as the guests of honor. Dr. Al Amin of the Civil Surgeon’s Office made a presentation based on information. Journalists Golam Nabi Dulal, Shah Alam Shahi, Azharul Azad Jewel, Nurul Huda Dulal, Md. Rezaul Karim Ranju, Md. Shahin Hossain, Abul Kashem, Md. Mahbubul Haque Khan, among others, raised various questions on the typhoid vaccination campaign on behalf of the journalists. Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Asif Ferdous told reporters that all children aged between 9 months and 15 years and students from pre-primary to ninth grade will be given free typhoid vaccine. However, each student must register online. He further said that this time the target number of students in 13 upazilas has been set at 6 lakh 22 thousand 881 and at the community level the target is 2 lakh 70 thousand 247, which makes a total of 8 lakh 93 thousand 128 people to be vaccinated. Media workers have a special role to ensure that every student can register online and receive the vaccine. The typhoid vaccination campaign will be inaugurated at Dinajpur District School on October 12. Dr. Hossain Md. Nahid, Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon’s Office, was the moderator.
