Opinion exchange meeting held in Ulipur on the occasion of UP Chairman candidate election

Kurigram Correspondent : A view-sharing meeting was held to select an honest and qualified chairman candidate from Ward No. 1 of Thetrai Union Parishad in Ulipur Upazila of Kurigram ahead of the upcoming Union Parishad (UP) elections.
The meeting was organized by the residents of Ward No. 1 of Thetarai UP on Saturday afternoon at the Gorai Peer Government Primary School grounds in the union.
Local residents, including local representatives of Ward No. 1, political party leaders and activists, and dignitaries, were present at the meeting.
Former UP member Abdus Samad, Nur Nabi Sarkar, BNP’s Thetrai Union Organizing Secretary Ziaur Rahman Zia, Jewel Sarkar, and social worker Saiful Islam Badal among others spoke at the meeting.
The speakers said that if qualified, honest, people-friendly and acceptable candidates are elected, the overall development of the union will be accelerated and it will be possible to fulfill the expectations of the people.
The speakers also said that the chairman candidate must be selected by maintaining discipline above personal interests and giving importance to public opinion.
The participants in the exchange of views expressed their hope for a free, fair and peaceful election and declared social worker Saiful Islam Badal as an honest and qualified candidate from Ward No. 1 to contest in the UP elections in Thetrai Union.
