The police have not yet been able to arrest the main accused Jihad (20) in the case of rape of a teenager by making her drink alcohol along with soft drinks (speed cold drinks) in Balra Union of Harirampur, Manikganj. Last (July 1) Wednesday, the police arrested the third accused, Minu Ara alias Asha, a housewife, when a rape case was filed at Harirampur Police Station. However, even after a week of the case being filed, the police have not yet been able to arrest the main accused Jihad (20).
Earlier, on June 25, at around 11:30 pm, a complaint was filed against a neighbor Jihad for raping a teenager (15) in Balra village of Balra Union of the upazila. Jihad has been absconding since the incident.
In this incident, the girl’s father filed a case against Jihad, including 4 others, at Harirampur Police Station on Wednesday, July 1.
According to the case documents, the girl went to a wedding reception at a nearby house. Neighbors Jihad, Sohag and housewife Asha also went to the event. At the event, accused No. 1 of the case, Jihad, with the help of accused No. 3 Asha, forcibly mixed soft drink speed with a sedative and raped her daughter in a room of Asha’s house.
Later, when the incident came to light, the girl’s father filed a case at Harirampur Police Station.
Harirampur Police Station OC Muhammad Afzal Hossain said that the housewife named Asha, an accomplice in the rape, has been arrested in the case. However, the operation to arrest the main accused in the rape case, including Jihad, is continuing.
Plaintiff Md. Abdul Haque (65), father- deceased Sultan Bepari, Sang-Balda, Police Station-Harirampur, District-Manikganj, appeared at the police station and defendant 1. Md. Jihad (19), father- Md. Pannu Bepari, Sang- Balra, 2. Md. Sohag (16), father- Md. Ibrahim Bepari, Sang- Balra, 3. Md. Minuara Nargis alias Asha (20), husband- Md. Rajedul Islam, Sang- Balra, 4. Md. Afzal Bepari (30), father- deceased Afsar Bepari, Sang- Balra, Sarva Thana- Harirampur, District-Manikganj filed a complaint against the plaintiff that the plaintiff’s unmarried minor daughter Md. Jui Akhter (15) went to the wedding of her neighbor, Juthi, granddaughter of one Fazal Bepari, on Thursday evening, 25/06/2026, at approximately 07.15 pm, to attend the wedding of her neighbor, Juthi. Her daughter wore a saree at the wedding. The defendants 1 to 3 also attended the wedding. Defendant No. 1, with the help of defendant No. 3, forcibly raped the plaintiff’s daughter by mixing soft drinks with speed and sedatives and raped her inside the house of defendant No. 3 at any time between 11.05 pm and 11.55 pm on 25/06/2026. Defendant No. 2 tried to rape the plaintiff’s daughter. Defendant No. 4 tried to suppress her without trying her by promising her justice.
In this regard, Harirampur Police Station Case No. 01/ Tang- 01/07/2026 AD, Section- 9(1)/9(4)(b)/30 Women and Children Repression Prevention (Amendment) Act, 2026; including 328 Penal Code, 1860; has been registered.
The case report of the case has been arrested and sent to the learned court. There is a habit of trying to arrest other accused.
