Pirojpur launches month long cleanliness, tree plantation and anti-drug program

Pirojpur Zilla Parishad has launched a month-long cleanliness, tree plantation and anti-drug program-2026 with a commitment to prevent various diseases including dengue, measles and chikungunya and protect the environment. A colorful rally started from Palpara area of ​​Pirojpur on the morning of July 5 and ended in front of Pirojpur Town Club after circumambulating various roads of the city.
‎Principal Alamgir Hossain, Administrator of the Zilla Parishad, led the program as the initiator.
Local public representatives, scout members, voluntary organizations and ordinary people from all walks of life spontaneously participated in the rally and cleanliness drive.

‎In his opening speech, Principal Alamgir Hossain laid special emphasis on the active participation of the local people in maintaining cleanliness. He clearly stated that there is no alternative to using the designated dustbins instead of throwing garbage in the drain or at the intersection of the road.
‎​Cleaning workers will be appointed by the District Council and the Municipality to conduct cleanliness activities in each neighborhood.
‎​A nominal monthly fee of 100 taka has been fixed for collecting household waste from house to house, so that each area is regularly cleaned.
‎​To make this program sustainable, an area-based monitoring committee will be formed consisting of young people.
‎​To speed up the cleanliness program, a special car will be gifted to the people of Pirojpur by the District Council.
‎​Principal Alamgir Hossain said in a strong voice in his speech, “If we do not throw garbage in the dustbins, the roads will never be clean. Our collective efforts are necessary for the healthy future of ourselves and our children.”
Pirojpur Municipality and local voluntary organizations are providing full cooperation to the District Council in implementing the program. In the campaign, Principal Alamgir Hossain directly cleaned the drains, which created great enthusiasm and awareness among the locals. Through this month-long program, the determination to make Pirojpur city an ideal and model is expressed.
