Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-15 has arrested a drug case suspect who was on the run for four years in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. He was detained in a special operation conducted based on a secret tip-off. He was later handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station for necessary legal action.
RAB-15 said that the force has been working relentlessly since its inception to maintain the law and order situation in the country and suppress drugs, terrorism, militancy and organized crime. Detective activities have been further strengthened to arrest the accused who are under court warrants and have been absconding for a long time. In continuation of this, on July 3, 2026, at around 11:30 pm, a smart operation team of RAB-15, CPC-1, Teknaf Camp conducted a special operation in the area adjacent to Shamima Filling Station in Maheshkhaliapara area of ​​Teknaf Sadar Union. A suspect who had been absconding for four years was arrested in the operation. The arrested person is Md. Jamal Hosn (30), son of Syed Hosn Prakash Syed Ahmed of Paschim Godarbil (Ward No. 6) area of ​​Teknaf Sadar Union. RAB said that there is a drug case filed against Jamal Hosn at Jatrabari Police Station in Dhaka in 2020. When the court issued an arrest warrant against him in that case, he had been hiding in different parts of the country for four years, avoiding the attention of law enforcement agencies. Although he changed his location repeatedly to avoid arrest, he was finally arrested based on RAB’s intelligence surveillance and information.
RAB-15 also said that after the arrest, he was handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station for further legal action against the accused.
RAB said that their regular operations to eradicate drugs, control crime and bring fugitive accused under warrants under the law will continue in the future. The force also said that such operations will be further strengthened to maintain law and order.
