On the occasion of the second anniversary of the July mass uprising, 11-party unity has held a mass march in Dinajpur demanding implementation of July Charter, democracy, justice, good governance and establishment of people’s rights. Leaders and activists of various political parties participated in the program organized on Saturday (July 4) afternoon as part of the program announced by the center.
The mass march started at 5:30 pm from in front of Dinajpur Gor-e-Shaheed Central Jama Masjid. Later, the procession circled the main roads of the city and ended at Bahadur Bazar Traffic Intersection. In a short rally held there, the leaders reiterated their demand for implementation of July Charter.
Dinajpur District Jamaat Ameer and Central Majlis-e-Shura member Principal Anisur Rahman, District Jamaat Secretary Muhaddis Dr. Enamul Haque, Assistant Secretary of District Jamaat and former Central President of Islami Chhatra Shibir Rajibur Rahman Palash, Unit Member of District Jamaat Advocate Mainul Alam, Ameer of City Jamaat Sirajus Salehin, City Secretary Kamrul Hasan Russell, General Secretary of District JAGPA Syed Imrul Kayes Rupam and Organizing Secretary of NCP District Branch Ekamul Haque Abir.
The speakers said that the July Charter needs to be implemented quickly to establish democracy, justice, good governance and people’s rights. They also demanded that necessary steps should be taken to implement the referendum-related referendum by properly evaluating the opinions of the people.
During the mass procession, the participants raised slogans demanding various demands including implementation of the July Charter and implementation of the referendum verdict. These included—“The July Charter must be implemented immediately”, “There will be no delay with July”, “The referendum must be implemented immediately”, “Abu Saeed is fascinated, the war is not over” and “Delhi or Dhaka, Dhaka Dhaka”.
A large number of leaders, activists and supporters of various levels of the 11-party alliance including Jamaat, JAGPA, NCP participated in the mass procession and rally. The program ended peacefully.
