According to local sources, Harun, a trader at Nildumur Market in the upazila, discovered a massive python inside his hardware shop upon opening it. News of the discovery spread instantly, drawing a crowd of curious onlookers to the shop. The Forest Department was subsequently notified, and forest officials, with the assistance of CPG members and locals, carefully rescued the snake.
Locals stated that a python of such a large size had never been seen before in a crowded area like the market. Although it is not certain how the snake entered the shop, it is believed to have wandered into the inhabited area from nearby forests or thickets in search of food.
Irfan Uddin, a local Forest Department official, stated that the rescued python is in good health. After necessary observation, it was safely released into a suitable habitat within the Sundarbans. He also urged the public to promptly notify the Forest Department upon spotting wildlife, rather than panicking or harming the animals.
Meanwhile, the discovery of a large python inside a shop caused a brief period of panic among local traders and residents, but the situation returned to normal thanks to the swift action taken by the Forest Department. Locals expressed their gratitude to the Forest Department, CPG members, and everyone involved in the rescue operation for safely retrieving the wild animal.
