Acting General Secretary of Canada BNP and Executive Director of Voice for Global Bangladeshis SM Humayun Patwari met His Excellency the President Mohammad Shahabuddin to demand the removal of the problems of the expatriates, activation of Bangladesh High Commissions to increase employment abroad, and establishment of a medical college and public university in Feni. The meeting was held at Bangabhaban on Monday evening, June 15, 2026.
During the meeting, cordial discussions were held on the possibility of exporting skilled manpower abroad to eliminate unemployment and create employment, activation of Bangladesh High Commissions, and the need to establish a modern medical college and a full-fledged government university to develop higher education and healthcare in the Feni region. At this time, His Excellency the President assured positive consideration and cooperation on the issues and said that he would forward the matter to the relevant level.
Mr. Humayun Patwari informed His Excellency the President about the letter of Voice for Global Bangladeshis to the Heads of State, Government and Foreign Ministers of forty countries to express their support for the presidential candidate of Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman at the 81st session of the United Nations. He also inquired about the physical condition and general affairs of the President. The two also discussed various contemporary issues in a cordial and lively atmosphere.
At the end of the meeting, the President presented a gift to Humayun Patwari as a token of love.
