State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj mentioned 4 main pillars and 1 new element for sustainable development of the education system, emphasizing on modernization of curriculum, improvement of quality of teachers, climate-resilient infrastructure, alignment of streams (coordination), addition of technology (AI and future jobs).
He said these things at the Cambridge Press and Assessment Bangladesh Limited, Launch Event 2026 organized by Cambridge International Education at Radisson Blu Hotel in Dhaka today.
The State Minister said that within just four months of assuming office, the new government has set a clear and long-term vision for the country’s education system. At the heart of this vision is creating world-class citizens, developing skilled human resources and making education work-oriented and technology-based.
The State Minister further said that currently there are more than 27 types of education streams in the country. A common minimum standard must be ensured for students of these streams, so that students of madrasas, Bengali medium, English medium or government primary schools get equal opportunities in basic knowledge and skills.
Highlighting the importance of teachers, Bobby Hajjaj said that just as a car cannot run without wheels, the education system cannot run without teachers. He said that discussions are underway to use the Cambridge teacher training program and other international experiences to ensure world-class training for a large number of teachers in the country.
Officials from the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, British High Commission, and Cambridge University were present at the time.
