SZ. Hriday : Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher said that we are working to provide facilities so that people can build houses in the Jhilmil project within a year.
He said that for many years, the project did not progress as expected. The construction of a police station, school, hospital and ETP center is underway inside the Jhilmil residential project. The work on the apartment complex will start soon. Street lights are being installed to illuminate the project area and CCTV cameras are being installed to ensure security.
Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher said this after inspecting the Jhilmil residential project implemented by RAJUK in Keraniganj upazila of Dhaka today (Tuesday).
During the inspection of RAJUK’s Jhilmil project, State Minister for Housing and Public Works Ahmed Sohel Manjur, Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works Md. Nazrul Islam and RAJUK Chairman Engineer Md. Riazul Islam were present.
In response to a question from journalists, the Housing and Public Works Minister said that the work of setting up a police station is underway in the Jhilmil project area. Five patrol teams of the local police station are on duty.
The Housing and Public Works Minister toured the school, hospital, and police station building under construction in the Jhilmil project. Project Director Md. Aminur Rahman presented the activities of this project at the project site office. At this time, Jhilmil Society Treasurer Md. Mosharraf Hossain spoke on behalf of the society.
Also present during the inspection were Rajuk Sheikh Matiar Rahman, Mohammad Zahirul Islam, Eradul Haque, Keraniganj Upazila Executive Officer Md. Umar Faruk, Chief Town Planner Md. Ashraful Islam, along with Rajuk officials and plot allottees.
