Inauguration and website launch of ‘Center for Food Fortification, Quality and Safety’ at BUKRI

Md. Moniruzzaman, Mymensingh: The ‘Center for Food Fortification, Quality and Safety’ (CFQS) was officially inaugurated at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). At the same time, the official website of the center was also officially inaugurated.
​Today (June 9) Tuesday (June 9), Vice-Chancellor (Acting) Professor Dr. G.M. Mujibur Rahman was present as the chief guest at the inauguration and website launch ceremony at the conference room of the Professor Muhammad Hossain Central Laboratory of BKU. Presided over and conducted by the Acting Director of the Central Laboratory, Professor Dr. G. H. M. Sagar, retired Professor of the Department of Food Engineering and Technology Dr. Md. Borhan Uddin, the recently former Director of the Central Laboratory and newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Jamalpur Science and Technology University Professor Dr. Md. Amir Hossain, Registrar of BKU Agriculturist Dr. Md. Helal Uddin, Director of Transport Professor Dr. Mohammad Golzarul Aziz, Professor Dr. Md. Shamsul Alam Bhuiyan, ICT Cell Director Professor Dr. Md. Rostam Ali, Project Manager of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) Md. Abul Bashar, and others.
At this time, the former director and the newly appointed vice-chancellor were presented with floral greetings and a crest by the Central Research Laboratory. Later, an “iCheck Modular” kit for Oil fortification was handed over to the chief guest by ‘GAIN’. The acting director of the Public Relations and Publications Department and other invited teachers, officers and employees were also present at the event.
In his speech as the chief guest, Acting Vice-Chancellor of BAU, Professor Dr. G. M. Mujibur Rahman said that today will be considered a special milestone in the history of Bangladesh Agricultural University. He mentioned that this is the auspicious beginning of the journey of a university institution to be run through its own income for the first time.
He expressed hope that the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) will continue to cooperate and support the activities of this center, and that there will be no significant obstacles to its successful establishment and operation.
Professor Dr. Mujibur Rahman called upon the teachers, researchers and working staff of the university’s central laboratory to play an active and responsible role in advancing the activities of the center. He also expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to all those who have worked tirelessly and sincerely behind the implementation of this initiative, especially the recently former director of the central laboratory and newly appointed Vice-Chancellor (Jamalpur University of Science and Technology), Professor Dr. Md. Amir Hossain.
