A H Liton Thakurgaon Correspondent: Efforts to create instability are underway in the country. LGRD Minister and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has asked everyone to be vigilant. He said this at a public reception organized at the Ruhiya High School ground in Thakurgaon on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 – noon. He said that the government is working to implement the promises made to the people by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman before the elections. The activities of Thakurgaon Public University and Medical College have started and the admission process will start from next year. In addition, work is underway to launch Thakurgaon Airport within the next two years. He further said that the activities of the Family Card and Agricultural Card programs have also started. The government’s development activities will continue and the roads and bridges in the areas where development is still lacking will be paved in stages. On this day, the long-standing dream of the people of Ruhiya will be fulfilled. Remembering the late leaders, he said, “Many senior leaders are not with us today. They have crossed over to the other side. The people of Ruhiya will remember their contribution forever.”
Addressing the youth, he said, “We must stay away from drugs. We must develop new leadership.” He expressed hope that the youth will play a positive role in the development and progress of the country. Earlier, he inaugurated the temporary office of Ruhiya Upazila. District BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin, General Secretary Poygam Ali and leaders and activists of the affiliated organizations were present at the inaugural meeting.
