Rabiul Hossain Chowdhury Ripon: A human chain was held in Kaptai to protest against forcing the resignation of MP and Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Minister Deepen Dewan, who was elected by the highest number of votes from Rangamati-299 constituency, and to withdraw his resignation letter and reinstate him in his post. On Wednesday (June 3) at 11 a.m. in front of the main gate of Kaptai Upazila, a human chain was organized under the banner of “people from all levels of Kaptai Upazila on the Rangamati-Kaptai road. The speakers in the human chain complained that Rangamati-299 Constituency People’s Representative and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Minister Deepen Dewan was forced to resign. They demanded immediate withdrawal of his resignation letter and his reinstatement as minister.” Md. Ikram Hossain Belal, General Secretary of Rangamati District Labor Party, Kaptai Upazila Women’s Party President Noor Nahar Begum, President of Chandraghona Union, Md. Zakir Hossain, spoke at the meeting organized by Kaptai Upazila Chhatra Dal Bacha, District BNP General Secretary Abdullah Al Nahian Dalim and former convener of Karnafuli College Students’ Party Md. Anisur Rahman, former president of Wagga Union BNP Md. Nasir Uddin Chowdhury were present. Md. Bismillah, Md. Iqbal Hossain Jewel, Kaptai Union Youth Party President Salauddin Rubel, BNP, Chhatra Dal, Shwachsevak Dal, Farmers Dal, Women’s Dal and a large number of people.
