The “International Guest House Conference Hall” built on the banks of the beautiful old Brahmaputra River has been inaugurated on the evergreen campus of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). Today, May 18 (Monday) at 12:30 pm, in the pleasant atmosphere of the university’s old American colony, BAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan was present as the chief patron and inaugurated this conference hall.
​BAU Research System (BAU) Director Professor Dr. Md. Hammadur Rahman presided over the function and Associate Director Professor Dr. Muhammad Javidul Haque Bhuiyan moderated the inaugural ceremony and Pubali Bank PLC Regional Head (Mymensingh) Md. Humayun Mia delivered the welcome speech. He mentioned Pubali Bank’s involvement in various development works of BKU and promised that this cooperation would continue in the future. At the same time, he handed over two 100-inch smart TVs for the conference hall to the Vice-Chancellor. In addition, Dean and Syndicate Member of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. G. M. Mujibur Rahman, Dean and Dean Convener of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry Prof. Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin, President of BKU Teachers’ Association Prof. Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam Sardar and General Secretary Prof. Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman Sarkar, President of Sonali Dal and Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries Prof. Dr. Md. Ali Reza Faruk, among others, delivered other speeches. The speakers expressed their hope that this conference hall will play an important role in increasing the dynamism of the university’s education and research activities.
In his speech as the chief sponsor, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AK Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan sincerely thanked Pubali Bank and other institutions, who have extended their cooperation to this program of BAKU. He also thanked the director of Baures and his team and expressed his hope to build some more necessary facilities centered around the conference hall of this International Guest House in the future and also expressed his desire to make it international. He expressed his hope that this conference hall will be used in many necessary ways in the future and declared its auspicious inauguration.
It is worth mentioning that the deans of various faculties of the university, directors and heads of various institutes, departments, branches, student affairs advisors, proctors, assistant proctors and other invited teachers, officials and employees were present at the inauguration ceremony.
