Freshers’ Day held in joyful atmosphere at ISU

The freshers’ day of the “Spring-2026” semester was held at International Standard University (ISU) with the lively participation of freshers, colorful arrangements and pleasant cultural performances. On Thursday, the event was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan at the auditorium of ISU’s Mohakhali campus, with Hasnat Mosharraf, Member Secretary of the University’s Board of Trustees, as the guest of honor.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan said that ISU has always been committed to quality education and this institution is working to develop not only skilled students, but also responsible and humane people. He urged the students to lead a disciplined life, follow rules and regulations and be responsible towards their country and society. He also emphasized on contributing to the development of the country by becoming ideal citizens. He further said that students who are involved in research activities from the beginning of their university life will play an important role in developing their knowledge and skills. At this time, he emphasized on acquiring timely skills in today’s technology-based world.

Hasnat Mosharraf told the students that university life is not limited to achieving good results only, but also creating a positive impact on society, developing leadership qualities and developing a mindset of empowering others is equally important. He called on the students to create an environment of mutual cooperation, honesty and trust. He also emphasized on maintaining a lifelong learning mindset to acquire new knowledge and skills, including artificial intelligence, in this technology-based era.

In addition to greeting the new students with flowers, they were given an idea about the various facilities, academic activities and co-curricular activities of the university. Another attraction of the program was the mesmerizing cultural performance. In this, students from different departments of the university showcased their creative talents through music, dance and group performances. The entire auditorium became festive with the lively performances of the students.

Also present at the festive event were Dean of the Faculty of Business Education, Professor Dr. Manjur Morshed Mahmud, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Professor Md. Abul Kashem, Director of IQAC, Professor Dr. Mohammad Ekramul Haque, Professor of the Department of Business Administration, Professor Mohammad Ali, Registrar Md. Faizullah Kaushik, heads of various departments, and a large number of students and officials of the university.
