Md. Moniruzzaman: RAB and the Department of Consumer Rights Protection have conducted a drive at the animal feed and medicine manufacturing company ‘Novas Agrotech Limited’ in the Shambhuganj area of ​​Mymensingh city. The company has been fined one lakh taka for various irregularities in production and marketing.
On Saturday (March 14), the Media Officer (Senior Assistant Director) on behalf of the RAB-14 commander confirmed the matter to the media through a press release at 4:45 pm. Earlier, a drive was conducted in Taltola, Shambhuganj area under Kotwali Model Police Station at around 12:30 pm.
The release said that based on secret information, the CPSC, RAB-14 (Mymensingh) operation team and the National Consumer Rights Protection Department, Mymensingh District Office jointly conducted the drive. During the operation, various irregularities were observed in the production of animal feed and medicine at the factory of Novus Agrotech Limited and its marketing system.
For this crime, a fine of one lakh taka was imposed on Novus Agrotech Limited under Sections 43 and 45 of the National Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 and it was collected immediately.
RAB-14 further informed that since its establishment, RAB has always been in a strict position to improve the law and order situation in the country, control adulterated food and fight against unscrupulous business circles. Especially during the holy month of Ramadan, RAB-14 Mymensingh is working relentlessly to keep the prices of daily necessities at a bearable level for the buyers and ensure safe food.
The press release expressed its firm belief that such people-friendly operations of RAB will continue in the future in the interest of public welfare and to prevent adulteration.
