NRB Global Convention 2025 Held in Dhaka: A Grand Gathering of Non-Resident Bangladeshis

 Special Correspondent: Today 30 Dhaka December 2025 The “NRB Global Convention 2025,” the largest event dedicated to Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs), was successfully held today at Hotel Sheraton in the capital. The convention witnessed a vibrant gathering of over 1,000 expatriates from approximately 25 countries, including prominent businessmen, entrepreneurs, doctors, engineers, scientists, university professors, and IT professionals.
Inauguration and Keynote Addresses The convention was officially inaugurated at 11:00 AM by Mr. M.D. Touhid Hossain, the Foreign Affairs Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh. Later in the evening, Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M. Sakhawat Hossain, Adviser to the Ministry of Shipping and the Ministry of Labour and Employment, graced the closing session as the Chief Guest.
In their speeches, the advisers emphasized the vital role of the diaspora in the country’s development and progress. They assured the participants of the government’s full support and highlighted that the active involvement of the NRB community is crucial for strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing Bangladesh’s global image.
Economic Discussions and Insights Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, was also present at the convention. He engaged in high-level discussions regarding the role of expatriates in the country’s economic development and shared valuable insights into the burgeoning investment opportunities in Bangladesh.
Global Representation Representatives from several prestigious international trade chambers and business councils participated in the event, including:

 * Canada-Bangladesh Chamber
 * British-Bangladesh Chamber & UK-BCCCI
 * Business Councils from Dhaka and Dubai
 * Singapore, Japan, Korea, and Australia-Bangladesh Chambers
The organizers believe that this convention has opened a new horizon for national prosperity by effectively channeling the merit and expertise of non-resident Bangladeshis toward the country’s growth.
