Mosahid Ahmed, Moulvibazar: On the night of December 23, an operation team of RAB-9, CPC-2, Srimangal, Moulvibazar conducted a raid in Pudinapur Bazar area under Sadar Police Station on the basis of secret information and arrested Chhaydul Mia (37), the 6th absconding accused in the police assault case (Case No. 16 of Moulvibazar Model Police Station, Date: 10/03/2025). He is the son of Sajan Mia of Katarai village. The incident details have been revealed that on the night of March 9, based on the case No. 07(08)24 of Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station, they conducted a raid in front of Katarai Liaquat Mia’s shop to arrest Ahmed Ali, the former president of Khalilpur Union Awam League, No. 1. While the arrested accused was being loaded into the vehicle, Ahmed Ali shouted and the mob formed a group and attacked the police members, indiscriminately hitting them, injuring them in various parts of their bodies and forcibly snatching Ahmed Ali away. As a result of the attack, several police members were injured. Later, the police filed a case with the Sadar Model Police Station of Moulvibazar district as the plaintiff in this incident. In view of this, RAB-9 started a shadow investigation into this incident and intensified detective activities to bring it under control. The arrested accused was handed over to the Sadar Model Police Station of Moulvibazar district for further legal action.
