Police have recovered a huge amount of fake currency, firearms and bullets from the ‘Bou Saj Beauty Parlour’ located in the Pukurpar area of ​​Sadar Adalat in Nabinagar Upazila of Brahmanbaria. The operation was conducted around 5 pm on Sunday (September 21).
Police said that fake notes worth 10 lakh 18 thousand taka, a pistol and three rounds of bullets were recovered from the parlor. Three female employees working at the parlor were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident and taken to the police station. A parlor employee, Sathi, said that at around 4 pm, an unidentified woman came to the parlor with a bag in her hand and wanted to get her face washed. After a while, she received a call on her mobile phone and said, “I will be back in just 5 minutes,” and left the bag and went out. But even after a long time, she did not return.
Finally, the police arrived at the scene and searched the bag and recovered 10 bundles of Tk 1,000 (totaling Tk 10 lakh), an additional Tk 18,000, a pistol and three rounds of bullets. Upon receiving the news of the incident, Nabinagar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Piyas Basak and Nabinagar Police Station OC Shahinur Islam visited the scene.
OC Shahinur Islam said, “Initially, it seems that an organized gang has been involved in counterfeit money and illegal arms trade for a long time. Since these items were recovered from the parlor, it is being investigated whether the organization has any involvement.”
He also said that verification of the detainees is underway and the case process is ongoing.
The incident has created a stir in the area, and the investigation may reveal more shocking information.
