Md. Milan Raihan, Joypurhat Correspondent: 8 September 2025 A human chain was held demanding reforms in the Ad Hoc Committee of the Joypurhat District Sports Association. The human chain was held in front of the Joypurhat Stadium on Monday (August 8) evening. Various sports organizers and players of the district participated in it.
Speaking at the event were District Football Players Association President Matiur Rahman Hobu, former national football team player Tutul Hossain Badsha, sports organizer Ariful Islam, and student representative Hasibul Haque Sanjid.
The speakers said that on August 31, a 9-member ad hoc committee of the district sports organization was formed with the Deputy Commissioner as the convener and the District Sports Officer as the member secretary. But people who are not involved in sports have also been included in this committee. Players and sports organizers are frustrated due to the ad hoc committee without party affiliation and performance evaluation in the sports arena. As a result, the sports development of the district is being severely hampered. For this, we have to accept three demands. The demands are that we want a party-free sports arena, we want an ad hoc committee version of Joypurhat District Sports within the next 3 days where the involvement of everyone in the sports arena should be ensured, and the ad hoc committee members should be included based on the performance evaluation of the organizers and players related to sports in Joypurhat district in the past few days. If these demands are not met, a strict movement will be launched.
Later, a memorandum was given to the member secretary of the district sports organization and the district sports officer.
