Yemen has fired ballistic missiles at Israel. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said its air defenses were working to intercept the missiles.
The Qatar-based media outlet Al Jazeera reported that sirens rang in various parts of Israel after the Yemeni missile launch.
Since the start of the conflict, Iran has fired a total of 370 ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones at Israel. The Iranian missiles are reported to have hit at least 30 sites in Israel.
The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said that as of Monday morning (June 16), at least 24 people had been killed and 592 injured in the attack in the country. 10 of the injured were in critical condition.
Meanwhile, Iran launched a missile attack near the US embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel. The US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, made the announcement in a post on social media. He said that an “Iranian missile strike” near the US embassy building in Tel Aviv caused minor damage.
He added that no US personnel were injured and that the country’s embassy and consulates in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv would be closed on Monday (June 16).
Huckabee had a tough time last Saturday. He described the night of the Iranian missile attack as “exciting and difficult.” In a post on social media, he said that he was forced to take shelter five times throughout the night.
